North Richland Hills
The City wants to share its heritage and will continue to provide information about our history on this page. We will continually update it with new information that will provide more insight into our beginnings.
Incorporation in 1953
The subdivision that would become North Richland Hills was developed by Clarence Jones (1895-1966) who had maintained a stock farm in the area north and west of Pipeline Drive and Grapevine Highway. He began subdividing some of his farm and 80 new homes were built in the first half of 1952. He assumed that his development would be annexed by Richland Hills, but when residents petitioned Richland Hills in early 1953, there was no immediate response. Perhaps Richland Hills, barely developed itself, didn’t want to take on more residents in need of paved streets and other services. For the rest of the story click here.
