No One Knows Southlake Like The Prange Team

Welcome to the first “History Out Your Window” column written by members and friends of the Southlake Historical Society.  We are excited about this opportunity to share with you the rich history of our area, a history that reaches past Southlake’s birth in 1956 to the 1840s, when Texas was a republic, and to the days when Indians hunted and camped here.

Take a look out your window, past brick houses and manicured lawns.  Imagine cotton patches, peanuts growing in sandy soil, pastures, wild turkeys, solitary log cabins, tidy little churches and one-room schools; see stands of timber, a meandering creek, graveyards, pioneer campgrounds, Indian trails.

So why learn about our area’s history?  For the rest of the story click here.
